About The Lusignea's

All five members of our family (Bill, Carol, Lauren, Lindsay, and Brian), grew up in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. Bill is from Lower Moreland, Carol is from Upper Moreland, and they met while working at the same job while in college. Shortly after marrying in 1976 at the ages of 23 and 21, they settled down in Upper Dublin, PA where they raised their three children. Fast forward to 2018, they were both retired and followed their dream: they moved full time to their vacation house in Mystic, Connecticut. Here, they loved boating, exploring local beaches, outdoor concerts, the fresh New England air, and hosting family and friends.

Today, Lauren and Brian live close to their childhood home in Horsham, PA, and Lindsay lives in Baltimore, MD. Since Carol's passing, Bill lives in Warminster, PA to be closer to decades-long friends, his church, and our family including his four grandchildren, while still going to Mystic on a regular basis.

Our family is fun, close, and athletic. We each played multiple sports throughout high school, and a few of us played sports in college at the Division I and Division II levels. While we like to eat healthy and take care of ourselves, we equally enjoy ice cream, chocolate, and good ol' Philadelphia tasty cakes.

Carol was the center of our family, yet she purposefully made sure we each had strong bonds together. After she passed away from incurable Glioblastoma brain cancer in November 2022, our world was rocked, and we redefined ourselves as a family while maintaining her love and memory in the center of our hearts.

Now, in Carol's honor, through the Carol Lusignea Memorial Fund, we carry on her interests and aspirations that she so passionately dedicated her life's work to.

A TEACHER

Her career as a K-5 Health & Physical Education Teacher came naturally to Carol. She was known for her unique way of motivating kids especially through fun activities and positive group cheers. She was the teacher you remember and the colleague you look up to.

A COACH

As a lifelong athlete, Carol knew what it takes for individuals to work together successfully as a team. For over 20 years, she was the head coach of Varsity Field Hockey, for several years she was the head coach of Varsity Lacrosse, and even coached youth basketball when her kids were young. She always brought out the best in all athletes.

A WELLNESS LEADER

Carol led a very healthy lifestyle which motivated others to do the same. She counted her steps, stayed active, ate nutritious meals, and practiced a positive mindset. She composted, reused everything, and even made her garden from sustainable materials. She received her Master Gardener's certification from the University of Rhode Island.

A FAMILY MEMBER

A beloved wife of 46 years. A devoted mom to three. A grandmother ("Baba") to four. An older sister to three. A daughter, an aunt, a cousin. While Carol was a leader and coach on the field, she was also our leader and coach in every day life. She made everything brighter.

You can make a positive difference for the well-being of youth
